Remove metadata from PNG files
PNGs look innocent, but they carry metadata in text chunks — tEXt, zTXt and multilingual iTXt — plus XMP packets and even a full EXIF profile in the eXIf chunk. Screenshots and exported graphics routinely contain software names, timestamps and editing history you'd never expect to be sharing.

Questions, answered
Do PNGs really contain EXIF data?
Yes. Since 2017, PNG officially supports an eXIf chunk carrying a full EXIF profile, and many editors write one. Text chunks with software names are even more common.
Will my PNG stay lossless?
Completely. Only ancillary chunks are dropped — the IDAT image data is never touched, so every pixel stays identical.
What about screenshots?
Screenshots often include your OS and app name plus a timestamp in text chunks. PureClear removes all of it in one pass.
