Terms
Simple terms, honestly stated.
The short version: PureClear is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
What PureClear is
PureClear is a free, browser-based tool that removes metadata (EXIF, XMP, IPTC, GPS and similar hidden data) from your files. All processing happens locally on your device — files are never uploaded to our servers.
Free to use
PureClear is free for personal and commercial use. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core metadata removal will always remain free.
Your files, your responsibility
You retain full ownership of your files. Don't process files you don't have the right to use, and don't use PureClear to facilitate wrongdoing. You're responsible for complying with the laws where you live.
No warranty
PureClear is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to strip metadata completely and losslessly, we can't guarantee every file in every edge case — always keep a backup of important originals.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any damages arising from your use of PureClear — including data loss. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (which, for the free tool, is zero).
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities maliciously, or misrepresent PureClear as your own product. We may block abusive usage to keep the service reliable for everyone.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as PureClear evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
